How to earn your qualification
​

Aimed at students aged 16 to 25, these qualifications are intended to be accessible to a wide range of learners of all abilities.  Learners can gain practical skills and a working knowledge of their chosen subject.  The skills, knowledge and understanding gained can help learners prepare for employment or continue into further education.
Every student will work towards qualifications in Maths, English and an area of study of their choice.

Recognising and Recording Progress and Achievement - (RARPA)

Non qualification based study for students to learn valuable life skills without any pressure of working towards a qualification.

Functional Skills
Students study to improve their core English and Maths skills, working to achieve a GCSE qualification.

​Students focus on developing their social skills, maintain a household and prepare basic meals.

Special Events
​Throughout the year students have the opportunity to represent the college in special events.  Students can raise money for charities, compete in sporting events and learn more about modern culture.

Taster Sessions

Taster sessions are available for new students or anyone who would like to experience our college first hand.  Taster students will join one of our sessions for a morning or afternoon and learn some simple techniques.  They will be given a tour of our facilities, meet staff and have the opportunity to ask questions.

For our core students, taster sessions provide insight into specialist skills and knowledge that are not available in our regular sessions.  ​We consistently change our taster sessions and invite guest speakers, to deliver an interesting variety of activities for our students..
